A practitioner with this restriction must show progress toward achieving either general or specialist registration. We usually apply this restriction when an internationally qualified medical practitioner has been unable to complete the unrestricted registration requirements within three years of starting practice in Australia.
The practitioner must do one of the following:
A practitioner with this restriction also has requirements about the type of registration they hold. This might include practising in approved practice locations under supervision.
When the practitioner applies to renew their registration, we monitor compliance by checking that they have done at least one of the following:
<include if satisfactory progress is selected at b.ii> For the purposes of this restriction ‘satisfactory progress’ is defined as evidence of completion of #insert milestone# or its equivalent.
You will receive a monitoring plan that details contact information, due dates, and the information you will need to provide to show that you are complying with your restrictions.
