Tribunal hearings

A National Board or a panel can refer a matter to a tribunal for hearing. This happens only for the most serious allegations. These include:

  • that a practitioner's behaviour constitutes professional misconduct, or
  • the practitioner’s registration was improperly obtained.

A practitioner can ask a panel to refer a matter to the tribunal instead of having the panel decide the matter.

There are different tribunals operating in each state and territory.
