Changes to the way you work with us

Ahpra is introducing a new operating system in March 2025.

The new system will make it easier, faster and more secure to apply for registration. It will also allow Ahpra to better meet its operational requirements and the performance outcomes expected of a modern regulator.

As part of this, we will be progressively introducing changes and improvements to our new system.

What’s changing

As part of the new case management system, there will be improvements to the registration and renewal process as we introduce:

  • a new portal for practitioners to manage their applications
  • enhanced security features including online biometric identity verification service and new multifactor authentication for practitioners to log in to their portal
  • an improved and easier-to-use ‘Raise of Concern’ form for notifications
  • a new data model that will better identify trends.

Watch our preview video to see what our new portal will look like and what the changes will mean for you when you renew this year.

Who these changes will affect

As we transition to a new case management system and introduce new portals and features, there will be a range of changes that affect people we work with including:

  • health practitioners, students and graduates who are applying for or renewing their registration
  • people who raise a concern
  • organisations that access data from us.

We will let you know if you are impacted by the changes. We will also update this page regularly with the latest information.

When will the changes happen

Our new operating system is planned to progressively come online from 17 March 2025.

You'll see changes when you make a new registration application or renew your current registration.

Continuing through 2025 we will be progressively implementing changes to improve the way we work.
