Call for applications - appointment to the Registration and Notifications Committee of the Optometry Board of Australia

Join a Board committee and help shape the regulation of optometrists in Australia!

Applications are sought to fill a role on the Optometry Board of Australia’s (the Board) Registration and Notifications Committee (RNC). Suitable applicants will be placed in a merit pool for future vacancies.

Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islanders and people from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Diverse backgrounds include culturally diverse people, people with a disability, carers of a person with a disability, people living in rural or remote areas of Australia and LGBTIQA+ people.

There is a vacancy for a suitably qualified and experienced community member on the RNC.

Appointment to the vacancy will assist the Board in achieving a balance of practitioner and community members on the committee, and preference will be given to applicants from a diverse background.

The National Boards and Ahpra have an important role in ensuring the development of a culturally safe and respectful health workforce that is responsive to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples health and contributes to the elimination of racism in the provision of health services.

To achieve this, we have committed to increasing Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander leadership and voices on Boards and committees.
