The Chinese Medicine Board of Australia (the Board) is calling for applications for appointment to the List of Examiners for the Board’s Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE).
OSCE examiners are vital in delivering a reliable and fair assessment process. Examiners will use their professional knowledge of the nature and culture of the profession to test candidate knowledge and proficiency in an exam-setting.
Essential examiner skills and eligibility criteria
The Board is seeking applications from people who have:
- Current, unrestricted registration with the Board in the divisions of acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine
and
- Relevant academic qualification in Chinese medicine.
- Chinese medicine clinical practice experience and/or Chinese medicine practice supervision experience within Australia for a minimum of five (5) or more years with demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply Chinese medicine standards, codes and guidelines.
- Sound understanding of the professional capabilities for Chinese medicine practitioners (the professional capabilities).
- Current Chinese medicine practice and/or Chinese medicine practice supervision role.
- Ability to attend examinations held in Melbourne but which may be held online or in other state and territory capital cities.
- Currently holds or can obtain a Working with Children Check Victoria.
The following examiner skills are desirable but not mandatory:
- Relevant experience in a training and/or education environment, e.g, training and supervision, and management/oversight of health practitioners in a clinical or educational setting
Registered Chinese medicine practitioners who are Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander are warmly invited to apply.
Exams are routinely scheduled throughout the year, subject to facility availability and are currently held in Melbourne but may be in other state and territory capitals. Examiners may be required to travel, with expenses covered.
The Board’s selection panel will assess applications. Appointments will be ongoing, examiners will be invited to attend exams on a needs basis/roster, and examiner appointments will be reviewed annually.
