The latest podcast from the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) discusses what it’s like for a health practitioner who is the subject of a notification.
In Episode three: The practitioner experience of a notification, Dr Anne Tonkin, Chair of the Medical Board of Australia, reflects on Ahpra’s videos featuring first-person accounts of what it is like for a registered health practitioner to be the subject of a notification, or a complaint.
Dr Tonkin talks about what the Medical Board and Ahpra can learn from the notification experiences discussed in the videos, and what process improvements could be made to make things better for everyone involved. Dr Tonkin also talks with host Susan Biggar about changes that are already happening and what they mean for practitioners and the public.
This episode is the third podcast that has been released by Ahpra and is part of our ongoing conversation about the work of health practitioner regulation and our commitment to public safety.
