Fake pharmacist pleads guilty to AHPRA charges

08 Mar 2019

A Sydney man appeared via his legal representative before the New South Wales Local Court in Sydney today, and pleaded guilty to all charges filed against him by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

The man pleaded guilty to four counts of unlawfully holding himself out as a registered pharmacist in contravention of the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law, as in force in each state and territory (the National Law).

He has never held registration as a registered health practitioner or student under the National Law with any National Board.

The matter has been adjourned for sentencing to 29 March 2019.

Anyone with concerns about whether an individual is registered with a national health profession board can check the register of practitioners maintained by AHPRA or contact AHPRA on 1300 419 495.
