Revised Recency of practice registration standard takes effect

01 Dec 2016

The revised Recency of practice registration standard for four registered health professions takes effect from today.

Recent practice supports good practice.

The registration standard is now in effect for the following National Boards:

These National Boards have previously published the revised standard that commences today alongside supporting materials to help practitioners understand the new requirements.

Practitioners will need to meet the obligations of the revised standard by the time they renew their registration in 2017.

More information

The revised standards were approved by the Australian Health Workforce Ministerial Council on 27 August 2015. The standards were revised after a scheduled review, which included public consultation. National Boards have previously published consultation reports providing a summary of the consultation processes, rationale for any changes and proposed way forward, including areas where further work is planned.

Please refer to AHPRA’s registration standards page for additional information and resources.
