AHPRA and the Nursing and Midwifery Board to run Twitter chat

25 Aug 2014

AHPRA and the Nursing and Midwifery Board are running a Twitter chat to discuss registration requirements for internationally qualified nurses & midwives (IQNMs).

AHPRA and the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (National Board) will be running a Twitter chat on 5 September to discuss the changes to registration requirements for internationally qualified nurses and midwives (IQNMs), and the proposed solution to help those caught by the changes in February 2014.

AHPRA and the National Board announced their commitment to find a solution to help nurses and midwives who were approved for skilled migration by the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC) before 10 February.

Affected nurses are encouraged to email the dedicated email address ANMACapprovedIQNM@ahpra.gov.au so that we can provide updates to you directly.

The Twitter chat will be hosted by AHPRA, with AHPRA CEO Martin Fletcher and Nursing and Midwifery Board Chair Dr Lynette Cusack RN answering your questions.

IQNMs and other members of the community are invited to join the chat using the hashtag #ahpraqanda on 5 September from 5pm to 6pm Sydney time (0700 UTC, 0800 London/GMT).

To join the Twitter chat, Tweet using the hashtag #ahpraqanda. Regardless of whether you have a Twitter account, you can follow the chat using this tool on the day.

If you would like to receive updates from AHPRA via Twitter, you can follow us @AHPRA.
