AHPRA and Board welcome settlement of longstanding legal case

28 Apr 2014

AHPRA and the Medical Board of Australia welcome settlement of long-running case.

The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and the Medical Board of Australia today welcomed the conditional settlement of the class action arising from the criminal conduct of Dr James Latham Peters.

The settlement of the matter - which predates the National Registration and Accreditation Scheme - is subject to judicial approval.

The claim by an individual who opted out of the class action remains before the court.

AHPRA and the Medical Board will not comment further at this time.
