Online renewal is now open for 12 regulated health professions.
Online renewal is now open for 12 of the 14 health professions regulated under the National Registration and Accreditation Scheme (the National Scheme).
More than 144,000 health practitioners are due to renew their general, specialist or non-practising registration with their profession’s National Board by 30 November.
The professions are: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health practice, Chinese medicine, chiropractic, dental, medical radiation practice, occupational therapy, optometry, osteopathy, pharmacy, physiotherapy, podiatry and psychology.
Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) CEO Martin Fletcher said the first of a series of email reminders was sent to health practitioners this week.
‘I urge all health practitioners to make sure AHPRA has their current contact information so they don’t miss future reminders to renew,’ Mr Fletcher said.
Last year more than 90 per cent of health practitioners due to renew by 30 November renewed online.
‘This was a fantastic result and it shows how quick and easy online renewal is,’ Mr Fletcher said.
Anyone who experiences difficulties using the online renewal service can phone the AHPRA Customer Service Team on 1300 419 495 and a team member will guide them through the process.
To update contact details using AHPRA’s secure online services, practitioners can visit the AHPRA website:
Under the National Law1, all registered health practitioners are responsible for renewing their registration on time each year.
Information about renewal, including FAQ, is available on the Board websites.
