08 Oct 2012

The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia has awarded nursing and midwifery projects.

The awarded projects are as follows:

Professional indemnity insurance (PII) for midwives research project to PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).

The National Board has awarded the contract to undertake professional indemnity insurance (PII) for midwives research to PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). The objective of this study is to carry out a selective international review of professional indemnity insurance arrangements and claims, specifically in relation to midwifery practice and obstetric practice.

This project is scheduled to begin in September 2012, with anticipated completion in February 2013.

Competency Standards for the Enrolled Nurse review project to Monash University.

The National Board has awarded the contract to undertake a review of Competency Standards for the Enrolled Nurse to Monash University. The purpose of the project is to revise current National Board competencies (formerly ANMC’s) for Enrolled Nurses with respect to relevance and currency against the contemporary role and scope of practice of Enrolled Nurses (EN). These competencies will be revised using the best available evidence that ensures a strong foundation for the education and assessment of enrolled nurses into the future.

This project is scheduled to begin in August 2012, with anticipated completion in November 2013.
